Echoes of Dreamworld takes its name from a real place with a long and unusual musical history.
Dreamworld was a grand estate built in 1901–1902 by financier Thomas W. Lawson in Scituate, Massachusetts. By the late 1960s, the ballroom had become a popular venue for live music, sometimes featuring bands at both ends of the floor. The space was known for its immersive atmosphere, with homemade light shows, black lights, and a vintage Kustom P.A. system wrapped in sparkling Naugahyde.
One of the regular performers was Emergency Exit, an early band that included three members who would later join Carl Canedy to form Kelakos. Those performances helped shape a sound rooted in experimentation, atmosphere, and live energy.
The Dreamworld estate was eventually redeveloped into condominium residences, but its influence lived on. Echoes of Dreamworld reflects the spirit of that time and place, capturing the feeling of music created for rooms where sound, space, and audience were deeply connected.
