LB Junior is the musical nom-de-guerre of Linc Bloomfield, songwriter-bass player of Kelakos and member of the Washington, DC-based Coalition of the Willing.
Echoes of Dreamwold takes its name from a real place with a storied musical history.
Dreamwold was a grand estate built in 1901–1902 by financier Thomas W. Lawson in Scituate, Massachusetts. By the late 1960s, the ballroom had become a popular venue for live music, sometimes featuring bands at both ends of the floor.
One of the regular performers was Emergency Exit, a band from nearby Cohasset, Massachusetts that included three members who would later join Carl Canedy to form Kelakos. Their performances, featuring a homemade light show, black lights, and a vintage Kustom P.A. system wrapped in sparkling Naugahyde, are remembered for experimentation charged with live energy wrapped in Dreamwold’s immersive atmosphere.
The Dreamwold estate was eventually redeveloped into condominium residences. Echoes of Dreamwold recalls the spirit of that magical time and place, when the sixities rock music revolution was just unfolding, inspiring a generation to follow their passions.
